Like any art form, Photography is a matter of balance. Finding balance is what ultimately makes a great photograph. Today, we’re going to focus on Exposure. Exposure is a very important aspect of photography and we need to make sure we use the light perfectly. When it comes to exposure, we’re specifically talking about the balance of three technical details: ISO, the the Aperture size and the Shutter Speed. Collectively, these elements make up the Exposure Triangle. Finding balance in your exposure will help you communicate your story through the finished photograph.
Camera in hand, eye to the viewfinder, there are times when I choose not to press the shutter button. Photography is an experience. Sometimes, the moment is ruined by taking the shot. I don’t often regret this choice because it gives me that zen moment.
Great photographers require more than expertise in the art of photography: They require extensive wisdom and knowledge about their subjects. It’s not enough to simply know how to use a camera or how to light the subject. You would need to also show great respect and caring for that which you photograph. The love and caring will show in your photos.
